A Full Fall : )

I am sitting at Rancho Abierto, thinking about our last 2 months, how full and life-giving they have been and anticipating what we have ahead of us.
We wrapped up July by speaking for a week of Mission Adventures in Salem and seeing friends in Gig Harbor. It was a blast getting to pour into MA students and seeing them really step out in confidence and courage while evangelizing in both Salem and Portland. Our time in Gig Harbor provided space for us to not only to be with friends, but to also process and pray into what the Lord is leading our family towards.
Auntie Jess and Shep hit it off, worship in the park and praying for people in Portland, and our beautiful Mt. Rainier.
In August, Ronnie completed 54 rounds of golf in one day for our annual Golf-A-Thon!! He had a blast, actually played pretty well and we reached our goal!! Thank you so much to everyone to participated with us.

Ronnie also led another house build with students who came all the way from England for a week of MA. Our dear friends lead this team and we look forward to seeing them all year. Towards the end of the month we spent some more time out at YWAM Rancho Abierto, where we helped lead a week of debriefing for families that had just returned from their DTS outreach. 10 families came back from serving for 2 months in Mexico, the Philippines, Argentina, and Columbia. It was a beautiful week of sharing the highs and lows that come with outreach, and reflecting on the Lord’s faithfulness to them over the past 5 months. It is incredible to see families who have uprooted their lives for the sake of saying yes to their part in building the kingdom. Ronnie and I felt so honored to be a small part of their journey.

After debriefing we flew to Tennessee for a little family reunion on Ronnie’s side, to see some friends, and stay with my family for a few days. Our time was full of laughter and tears and sweet memories being made. Shepherd went to his first fair, swam in a quarry, met a ton of fun cousins, and experienced one of my favorite things, a good thunder storm in the summer in the south, complete with epic lightning and a power outage. He still talks about it! We feel so blessed to have the family and friends that we do.
A couple weeks ago YWAM San Diego Baja celebrated 35 years as a base, and we dedicated a new building at the Ensenada base. The new building is beautiful! It will have classrooms, conference rooms, a worship hall, kitchen, and dinning room that looks out at the ocean. The Lord continues to grow the campuses and this will provide some much needed room. It was wonderful to take time during the celebration to look back at all that the Lord has done and press into what he is calling each of us towards in the future.
Since the conference our time has been split between Ronnie continuing to work on projects at Rancho Abierto, leading another Homes of Hope build, and me getting to bring out the ol’ paint brushes and do a mural for our coffee shop on base. I absolutely loved getting to paint big again, and chat with people as they passed. Plus, Shepherd was a great sidekick!
It has been a full couple of months and we are grateful to the Lord. As we look forward we are very excited to share what is coming up. We will be co-leading/pioneering a new school at YWAM Rancho Abierto, starting in January! YWAM Rancho Abierto is located a little south of the Ensenada base, and has a focus on families. The school is Homestead Improvement and Management. This is a secondary school for families, which means kiddos will be learning right alongside of their parents. The Ranch has held a special place in our hearts and as we prayed about being a part of this school the Lord began to remind us of things He had spoken in the past, desires we have in our hearts, and dreams He has given us for the future. So much of this involves a better understanding of our reconciliation to the land, the healing that can come to communities as we learn to steward the earth, and how this is a vital part of the kingdom of God. Whether you live in a suburb, or out in the country, whether you work in a more western civilization or with nomadic peoples, these truths are important.

We are extremely excited for what will come out of this season. We have a lot of work ahead of us to prepare, including building a barn that will serve as the classroom and some housing. We know it will be challenging, but we trust the Lord in his leading. I’ll put a link below to the school website so you can read all about it!
As always, we can not do this alone, nor are we meant to do it alone. It takes the whole body of Christ working together. Thank you for partnering with our family in the part that we get to play. We love you guys and love hearing from you!
Prayer Requests
We will be hosting the 2025 Them Team for Mission Adventures next week. Prayers as we partner with the Lord in creating a brand new theme that speaks to the youth of North America.
We are hosting a team from Ronnie’s home church for a Homes of Hope build. Prayers that the family receiving the home would know the love God has for them.
Prayers for us as we continue to prepare for the Homesteading School. There is a lot of building left to do! If you or anyone you know wants to come help with building the barn we would love to chat about how to make this happen.
