New things happening!

When the Lord leads us, our desire is always to obey. And He is clearly leading us into a new season.

We've reached a bittersweet moment in our missionary journey. Two weeks ago we returned our house keys to our landlord, put some belongings in storage, loaded up our truck and trailer including the fur balls, and with a mixture of tears and anticipation we left Ensenada. We always have said we only want to go where the Lord leads, and since Orion passed away it has become all the more evident that moving forward will only happen by His leading. The Lord has been so faithful to continue to walk with us, and speak to us each day about how to move forward, and receive His life in a deeper way. And as we reached the year anniversary of our sweet son, we heard the Lord give us direction for our next big steps.

So, we can start with the things that remain the same. We know that the Lord is still calling us to full time missions through YWAM. We know that we still have a call on our lives to work with youth, and the arts. Using creativity to unlock a ‘gospel imagination’.

In order to continue in our call with strength and longevity we believe the Lord is leading us to a season with intentional mentoring, more training/schools, and support raising. We will be heading back east for the end of this year to be with family and friends. Last year there was such a fog during this time as it was only a few months after Orion died. We believe it is important for us to spend a bit of intentional time with our family over the holidays, as we all continue to heal. We will have a bit of travel in the fall. We are teaching for a week in the Ensenada Discipleship School, then head to Montana YWAM base for a few days to discuss further debrief training we hope to do next spring. Come January we will return to YWAM San Diego Baja in Tijuana, MX to take a 3 month Community Development School. Looking forward after the Community Development School we have some idea’s of other ministry opportunities and places to serve that the Lord may be stirring up for the future. However, in a prayer time last year the Lord shared an image of us allowing Him to color in our canvas, and us not forcing it.... so we will continue to wait on His timing.

To wrap this up, we want to say how truly grateful we are. We celebrate 11 years of marriage this month, and while driving across the country is never how we thought we would be celebrating, it has given us lots of time to reflect. The Lord has been so faithful to us over these 11 years. YWAM Ensenada, you have been a beautiful home to us the last 7 years. We have been loved, and challenged, we have been given opportunities way beyond our qualifications, and the growth that has come from that is invaluable. Ensenada family, we love you more then this little blog can say. You have seen us at our best and at our worst, and you have loved us unconditionally along the way. We have experienced the beauty of Jesus through your friendships. And we are highly anticipating how the Lord will cross our paths in the future as we continue to work together.

To our wider “family”, thank you for being so supportive and life-giving over the years. You guys have stood with us in faith, in grief, and in hope. We are designed to do life with others, and the community we have is amazing!!!!

Please pray for our travels and time this fall and winter that it will be fruitful, life giving and healing. When we return to Mexico in January we aren't sure where we will live yet, we have talked about the possibility of buying a cheap camper to stay in! This would give us quite a bit of flexibility over this next season. Please pray for discernment and provision if thats what we end up doing. Also please pray for our family as we still desire for it to grow.
